By Olivia Pierson First published on Insight@theBFD 9/04/2020 While the world is currently facing a health crisis with the Wu-flu which dominates the news in all nations, there are still major political issues going on which have not yet been given the full attention that they deserve. One of these issues is another report undertaken by Michael Horowitz, the Inspector General for the U.S Justice Department, about the FBI’s habit of falsifying information to spy on American citizens through the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA). The intelligence agencies were always a major target for President Trump’s open contempt because he knew they had conspired to overturn the result of the 2016 election, which saw him become America’s president. The President was vindicated entirely when the IG’s first report found that the FBI, under James Comey, falsified facts and information on the FISA court warrants to have, not only the president’s campaign team spied upon, but also his transition team when he was the President-elect, and then on his actual presidency well into 2017. The FBI’s use of the infamous, fake “dossier” on Trump was a sordid character assassination purchased at extraordinary lengths through Fusion GPS and Christopher Steele that the FBI knew to be fake, but they used it anyway to justify their FISA surveillance of some in his campaign team, then all of their contacts and all of those contacts’ contacts. This illegally-gained information formed the basis of the bogus Mueller investigation into Russian collusion, aka the “Russia Hoax,” which was an epic failure concluding with the very strange testimony of Robert Mueller the Third. Last week this ordeal reached another pinnacle of corruption, but the importance of it all has temporarily been lost in the news cycle because of the Wu-flu. When this current crisis is over, as it will be, the American public will have to contend with the fact that the Obama-appointed IG, a loyal Democrat, now has as little faith in the FBI as President Trump does, which is none. The IG’s new report on the FBI’s use of the FISA process is so damning one wonders how FISA will be able to continue operating at all. Horowitz reported that the same “errors” and “inadequately supported facts” that typified FISA’s dealings into Trump’s campaign are the tip of a very large iceberg of deceit. The Western Journal writes: “According to the IG’s report, the office reviewed 29 of about 700 FBI requests for warrants under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act between 2014 and 2019.” Every single one showed errors and inadequately supported facts, which means the FBI, far from being a scrupulous agency representing the “good guys,” since 2014 has regularly resorted to abusing the civil liberties of American citizens by faking facts in order to spy on them. Since 2014? Who was America’s president then? Barrack Obama, with his Attorney General appointee Eric Holder serving as head of the Justice Department. So much for Democrats always claiming that Obama was the great “scandal-free” president (and never forget Fast and Furious). The FBI used to just be a part of police enforcement to investigate crime, now they have become criminals in order to gather intelligence on citizens through illicit spying, even going as far as seeking to overturn the results of a free and fair election. After the virus crisis has subsided, there will be a reckoning with the FBI, but suffice it to say at this moment that the judgment President Trump exercised in the inspired moment when he fired James Comey at the beginning of his presidency showed, once again, how excellent his natural instincts were, and are. While Trump does seem to have good instincts, in the case of James Comey, I think it might have been bleedingly obvious that Comey was unfit to be the Director of the FBI under Trump and could not be relied upon to serve in the Trump administration.
